Regular cleaning and maintenance of your bathroom exhaust fans can ensure optimal performance and air quality in your bathroom. A working bathroom fan is crucial for removing excess moisture from your bathroom, moisture which can lead to mold and mildew growth if not vented properly.

We recommend cleaning your bathroom exhaust fan every six months. This simple routine maintenance prevents potential issues and costly repairs. Watch the video below or follow along with our guide to keep your air flowing smoothly.

1. Shut Off Power at the Electrical Panel Box

Safety first! Before beginning any maintenance, switch off the power to the bathroom fan by flipping the breaker at the panel box.

2. Remove the Bathroom Fan Cover

Gently pull down on the sides of the fan cover to create a small gap. Locate the two metal clips holding it in place and squeeze them together to release the cover. If there's an LED light attached, remember to unplug it before removing the cover.

3. Clean the Fan Cover

Take the fan cover to the kitchen or utility sink and wash it with water and dish soap. Use a sponge or brush to scrub off dust and debris. A clean cover ensures proper airflow and prevents performance issues.

4. Clean the Fan Housing and Motor

While the fan is still in place, use a vacuum brush attachment to clean the housing and motor. Removing dust buildup helps maintain efficiency and prolongs the life of your exhaust fan.

5. Re-install the Fan Cover

Align the metal clips with the holes on the housing and gently push the cover back into place. Ensure a snug fit by squeezing the clips together.

And that’s it! Maintaining your bathroom exhaust fan is a simple yet effective way to keep your living space clean, healthy, and comfortable. If you have any questions or need assistance, don't hesitate to reach out. Here's to a fresher bathroom experience!
