April 19, 2024

As the end of your lease approaches we have a few notes and reminders to help you get ready for your move-out.

Book your move-out inspection

To ensure you are able to find a time that works for your schedule we recommend booking your move-out inspection as soon as possible. Move-out inspections are booked on your lease end-date on a first come first serve basis. If you prefer a date prior to your lease-end date please let us know.

Available inspection times: Monday-Friday* 8:30am, 10:00am, 11:30am, 1:00pm, 2:30pm or 4:00pm.

*If your lease end-date falls on a weekend or holiday we will still book your move-out on that date.

Please send an email to service@ripplcalgary.com with your preferred time.

Getting Ready for Your Move-Out Inspection

Your unit will need to be clean and all belongings removed from the property by the time of your move-out inspection. If your unit passes our inspection you will automatically be entered into a draw for a $200 prepaid Visa.

If we find your unit does not meet our move-out standards you risk incurring a $250 fine as well as additional costs, including cleaning costs, vendor charges, and living accommodations for the next tenant as we prepare the unit.

Keys

All keys must be returned during your move-out inspection, including any fobs, parking passes, mail keys, and storage unit keys.

Utilities

Regardless of your move-out date you will remain responsible for utilities until the end of the month. Please ensure utilities remain in your name until the first day of the month following your move-out.

Reserve an Elevator (if applicable)

If you require the use of an elevator for your move-out  make sure you contact your condo board, concierge, or building manager in advance. Failure to do so may result in a fine.

Carpets

We require any carpets to be professionally steam cleaned and a receipt for verification. Please note, Rugdoctors do not qualify as a professional rug cleaning.

Cleaning

Your unit must be cleaned and ready for the next tenant by the time of move-out, including baseboards, light switches, fixtures, appliances, toilets, and cabinets.

We highly recommend hiring a professional cleaning service such as Wild Rose Cleaning  to clean your unit in advance of your move-out. This will help to avoid move-out deficiencies and keep you from incurring additional costs.

Professional cleaners should be contracted a minimum of two-weeks in advance of your move-out to ensure their availability.

Repairs

We highly recommend hiring professional vendors for any necessary repairs (ex. patching walls, painting) in advance of your move-out. This will help to avoid move-out deficiencies and keep you from incurring additional costs.

Consumables

Certain consumable items must be replaced in advance of your move-out inspection, including:

  • Light bulbs
  • Furnace filters
  • Water filters
  • Device batteries (smoke detectors, door locks, etc.)
